Before I begin, I just want to say, “What’s New” with the iPod touch the third generation “:
faster CPU / Double the Ram / Better graphics (faster boot time / faster loading is everything that I did not notice)
-double for the storage of the same old price
Voice Control (I explain in a second)
Latest firmware for free < , br /> New earpiece microphone in remote + (How to Voice Control)
And that’s all ~ depends on your needs, an upgrade from 2G to 3G would be not worth it.
* * Important Note: only the new third-generation ~ 32GB/64GB iPod touch (8GB is repackaged 2G) details below.
About the new Voice Control feature, if you love your iPod to take with you to the gym is the new “Voice Control” pretty cool, it allows you to control your music through your voice, you need to the are pockets can simply say: “Continue from iPod to the next song, say” shuffle “to shuffle, you say ‘stop pause and play music etc, that is why I iPod touch iPod classic is recommended for fitness Studio users who bought my girlfriend an iPod classic and now he complains that the iPod classic is too heavy for him when he goes to the gym and he’ll buy another iPod “Nano right” for his gym, for me, I my iPod touch to the gym, it is so bright that I sometimes forget it in my pocket.
After my iPod Touch 3G For a while I honestly did not not noticed any difference from the outside or the inside of my old iPod touch compared to the second generation (which is to be faster, but I did not notice anything while playing music and video playback or menus, but surfing with Safari and facebook was working faster, same with the boot time), only you can really notice because it quickly with heavy applications as video / music playback is already fast enough with 2G.
I have the 64GB iPod 3G for [...] $, if you upgrade your iPod touch 2G honestly believe yourself a favor and save yourself the money if you really think so much (of a memory I do is why I have a need to have purchased), also remember that the 3G battery lasts less than 2G (3G battery = 30 hours music playback in 2G compared to 36 hours music playback for Apple to official figures)
< , br /> * VERY IMPORTANT * for the people want, the new 8 GB version, the third generation, 8GB iPod touch is not 3G, it is a second generation iPod Touch, but Apple has to pack it again / all identified in the 3 . generation that seems to be misled by Apple and it’s not cool at all, it is iPod Touch 2G + firmware update and that’s it.
The 3rd generation iPod touch 32GB / 64GB versions) with a free microphone + remote with earphones, while the 8GB (not normal, it comes with earbuds that have the new CPU 32GB/64GB + graphics (Apple says the new CPU is twice as fast as the iPhone 3GS) while the new 8GB the same old CPU / chip used in the old second-generation iPod touch.
Here is the description on Apple’s iPod Touch page on the 32/64GB versions: “” Enjoy all the great features of the 8 GB model with more power, richer graphics, and Voice “” “
The 3rd generation iPod touch is the same awesome iPod touch the second was generation.
You can make your music play / watch your videos / play games, read for yourself ignite pound / etc “can amazon great description of what it is able to read, if you do not know yet it’s better than what I would say, because it pictures and everything.
The iPod touch is the best browser I have ever seen in a portable device, I do not even know to me more with my netbook lead thanks to my iPod touch when you are hated surfing with lame browsers, one to crash a lot or slow (many mobile phones) Trust me on this, the iPod touch browser is not a toy or a gimmick it is a browser can depend, it is super fast and smooth, and after the application, as it has for a whole year, it only crashed on me again!
A short list of pre – Advantages and disadvantages of the iPod touch
Pros:
-Slick, small and lightweight
-Great-touch-the best web browser on a portable device
-Amazing video / music playback
App Store (Too many cool apps for free)
display is clear and bright
; no mistakes and annoying things, a very reliable hardware
-64GB flash-based MP3 player
Cons:
about not much of an update 2G (People were disappointed because it does not make as getting the camera / OLED / etc)
weaker battery, only 30 hours for music playback as compared to 2G iPod touch 36 hours music playback
-expensive for the 64GB version
no FM radio without the use of online applications
Bluetooth is still half locked
I hope my review helpful:)

This is my first iPod and MP3 player. So far I’ve had the iPod Touch (32-GIG/3RD GEN) for two weeks and I love it.
It is not playing so much more than just music, this is one reason why I wanted to. I’m not a Mac person at all but the iPod Touch. . . I love it.
Out of the box found my Wi-Fi connection and had me surfing the net (in the real Internet, not the mobile web pages like those of Verizon) on my phone. It is intuitive to use and I am finally browse through the touch screen, and give yourself used to it.
This review is mainly for other iPod newbies like me. Here’s what it comes with:
*** The iPod Touch really smooth and very thin
*** A USB This cable hook up your iPod to your computer to recharge the battery and sync it with iTunes.
*** plastic docking Thing, which is a small plastic part that you You can create the iPod to an external device (I’m not sure) what.
*** Head phone with external microphone and volume control.
*** Teeny-tiny insert info with bare bones. You have access to the complete manual which is free to download in PDF format available on the Apple Web site.
My advice is to an outer shell for the iPod buy – the 2nd Generation iPod touch Skins / cover fit the new 3rd generation ones, because the body is the same – and buy a protective screen so that you keep the screen free from scratches and such. I have already scratched the shiny back of my iPod only by drawing on the table, so be careful when you first if you do not have a cover for him.
As long as you have Wi – fi (wireless Internet connection) in your house / apt, you can fully from the iPod Touch. You can also free Wi-Fi hotspots in shops, restaurants and other areas, so you can use the Internet and download applications (applications, etc.), check your email, go get on Facebook, YouTube, and Amazon has an app that can be downloaded to the iPod.
The iPod Touch is configured to automatically search for Wi-Fi networks, it provides for both either locked (you need a password) or unlocked (no password) networks and displays them in the settings for “Wi-Fi.” You even have to know anything about Wi-Fi to get it started. Select only one of them, and it connects them.
I my iPod in some hotspots, such as a shopping center with a Starbucks and it found the Wi-Fi and connected, but there have many People used it, took it tries to connect for a while.
you need the iTunes program, which is a free down-loadable program for Windows or Mac and buy an iTunes account and download the applications (most are free, but you still need an account to download it). If you register prior to iTunes to purchase song downloads, or simply to use more than you already have a login account. . . If you have not used before using iTunes to download and easy to install. Then sign up for an account, which is also free, unless you plan to purchase songs or videos.
The plus on the iPod Touch:
===== Applications (Apps) =====< br /> The applications are a lot on the iPod Touch and there is an application for everything (almost). You are in categories such as games, news, productivity, etc., arranged and is encouraged by the on-screen best-selling, top-free and release date. You can also search by keyword, or the most popular and featured applications.
Some applications are free and some cost a fee of between $. 99 – 4 U.S. dollars. 99 and higher. If you are a news junkie like me, you’ll really love it. I have downloaded and Time Magazine, NPR (radio and print stories), BBC Reader, New York Times, USA Today, AP (Associated Press) and by ABC News. . . all for free!
I like that the BBC readers their stories in the cache memory, when you connect via Wi-Fi download, so you read the articles offline (if Wi-Fi is not available). New York Times and AP allows you to store text that you read offline as well. And the AP provides news, as long as you are connected. . . ALL FREE!
I have a dictionary, spell checker, facebook downloaded, read Grimm’s fairy tales and Alice in Wonderland books. . . all for FREE! I also have this free app called “Pandora”, which is a radio station that play only the songs, since they are artists, you want to hear. Too cool!
I know that I like a broken record with the “free” sound but when Verizon Wireless user, I am sure other customers feel VZW me, I am surprised that a download and install quality, portable applications are planning on a machine for no charge or a subscription.
===== ===== Other Fun Stuff < br />
calendar for appointments, etc., contact phone book, clock, weather, calculator (you can tip a free download computer), notes and maps. All this come with the iPod Touch.
ITunes to keep the stuff (music, applications, videos) on your iPod that are supported on your computer so you always have a copy of these things. And you can tell it to synchronize the play-lists, so you do not carry around your entire music and video library from your computer to the portable.
Anyway, I ‘m loving my iPod Touch and it was the perfect birthday present for me. It’s like a mini computer with you at all times. The only thing missing is a camera, but that’s not a big deal at all. It is great for people who want an iPhone, but do not want AT & T service is lousy. I love not paying a monthly subscription charge to Verizon for applications on my phone, have now that I had the iPod Touch!
The only thing I would ever guess – in addition to the iPod – is the cover protector skin and screen protectors mentioned above, and enable the Apple USB Power Adapter lets you connect the USB cable plugs into an electrical outlet (although it is not necessary, they occupied much faster than if it charging from your computer ).
As this is my first iPod, I do not know how it compared to the previous versions. But this is great and really addictive! So if you are already asking whether you should get one, and you do not have an iPhone, have access to Wi-Fi, then I would say. . . yes! The iPod Touch has been able to find so much for the user that you have something to do with the offer, even if you do not plan on it as an MP3 player all that much.
*** *** A note about the iTunes
Even if you do not buy MP3s – I’ve bought only about three out of iTunes, the rest coming from Amazon through loans from special purchases and iPod can play them – iTunes is really handy because, inter songs from CDs as easily by capturing them and convert them into MP3 files. The program will also retrieve song and artist for you, so you do not label the file when you import. From there, you can create your own playlists and burn your own CDs, not to mention from the playlists, that she wore on your iPod, so it’s worth, and really easy to use.

This review could in one short sentence to summeren: You are looking at the actual killer device for personal entertainment. But I never, never, not a short review. . . So here’s the long story. Grab a cup of coffee, as this review to answer the questions you never had been.
I must admit that there are some elements that are being held, and my enthusiasm for that as long as the iPod Touch. Two years ago I bought the original Touch, but last year I did an upgrade to the 32 GB and now I have the 64GB version. Was the upgrade worth it? And what are the things are still imroved? For, although the Touch is close to perfection, there are many little things that can be improved.
Hardware Physically, the new (64GB) is identical to Touch it is at the 2nd Generation of brothers. It is polished crome backplate is slightly curved, so that perfectly fits your palm. Still, the fact that they will guarantee from polished chrome, it attracts fingerprints and scratches almost magically. I am no friend of any type of caps, and my last one (32GB) Touch had in my pocket with my keys, live coins, and other things that I threw into it. After a year, the backplate to pick up many scratches, and I expect that the 64GB does not fare better. Personally, I would have preferred a brushed finish on the backplate. This may be problems with the legibility of the individual engraving that Apple applies for touch are caused on the backplate for no additional charge (a nice touch “, which is increasingly important as the Touch is more common). This custom engraving, you can only get if you order via touch Apple (it’s not in Apple stores).
The front panel is glass from one of the most impressive improvements I have ever seen. After a year of severe abuse, my old Touch’s glass front, not a single reason – not one. I do not know how Apple does it, but that’s really impressive. Remember, I do not think, do not use protective covers or transparencies. The screen itself is glossy, bright, and can easily be read out, which alone is a feat. The Touch has an ambient light sensor, making it dim the screen when the environment has become darker.
This time, the screen color temperature remained unchanged (2G) moved all the colors from a blue to a golden glow. Movie playing is simply amazing. The image is crisp, and on-screen controls, of course. Again, there are nuances, such as double-tapping the screen to the aspect ratio, or placing bookmarks, etc. You have not yet been a film can set the contrast to change, but beyond that little problem is likely to play movies. Playing movies on the Touch just works great, but I personally believe that the screen is too small to watch a full movie. Last week I was just a TV episode on the plane en route to Hamburg (in 75 minutes) flight, but quickly decided against a decision rather than to a game of “playing Luxor. Somehow, I prefer a bigger screen for consuming video content, while I No problems have to do something interactive it. Still plays videos on its large touch.
button and interface layout has remained the same from the last generation: volume control on the left page, above the exit / on “button keeps Buttom has dock lines and phones, and the front keeps the individual home – button. It’s one thing that can be improved here: I want the audio connection have preferred at the beginning (or) both sides, as the current configuration includes the use of many applications (eg news and eBook reader), if you want to keep it – for example in the gym. Some applications use the Accelerometer and can be used, the positioning of the touch on the head, though.
The built-in speaker is unchanged from the previous release. It is weak, tinny, mono, terrible sound produced has no volume label to speak of – and yet it is one of the best additions to the touch (do not have the original, the 2nd generation). It just makes casual gaming so much more fun. I do not know care about the poor sound quality, I love the fact that it exists.
The undersigned white earphones sold with the touch like the Apple look good, but I do not like them. In my ears they are too uncomfortable. Since I’m no audiophile, I can not comment on audio quality than their others, it’s good enough for me. Anyway, I replaced them with my favorite non-Apple version. The catch is that Apple is giving Now the 64GB (and 32GB) with headphones that have the sport a built-in microphone and remote control. And my head phones do not. While the remote is not much at home (writing as it does, is simply too complex), and the microphone works, and has loyalty to pick out just the right voice over the background noise. So, for today, I find the white flowers with me, if I use the IP telephony functions.
The battery life is reduced to something from the 2nd generation – at least on paper. In recent days, the new 3rd gen Touch is certainly performed as well or even better than my 2nd gen – but then again, that it is the battery is already one years old. The fact that I’ve become very fond of is the fast-capability ‘assault’ that works really well.
The integrated wireless connectivity is really nice, with a surprisingly well-executed integration. The touch does everything to the wireless network via WiFi and Bluetooth. WiFi works very well (especially here in Switzerland, where hotspots are particularely dense), and Bluetooth integration (which I tried to be) on the 3rd generation for the first time flawlessly. WiFi reception (range) lagging slightly behind the Wintel (a laptop, no doubt due to the metal back plate) and is pretty much on par with that of a 15-inch MacBook Pro ( what something is missing) wireless reception range. WiFi is still the ‘g’ option though [interestingly, the built-in hardware does not support 11n, but so far Apple has decided not to activate it, presumably to save battery power. This is interesting also from the fact that activated in the 2G Touch, Apple initially included Bluetooth capabilities, but only with a later OS release. Perhaps the same is true for 11n] are expected. Bluetooth now works with BT headsets and car kits-based integration (works) also in me. I would like to try BT-based print from your calendar or address book application, but hit a snag: It seems not touch app supports printing …
Missing Hardware ; There are some hardware that I expected, or media en, that it was shot in touch – especially as (in part) of them are now available on other iPods:
no camera. I was somewhat ambivalent about this. No camera means no pictures and / or movies. But it also means that I am handling it rough as I can not keep worry abou the lens. I have also not about taking it to the gym worried (my gym has very strict rules for camera-equipped items). All things being equal, the addition is of a camera (and / or video) would have been nice, but I do not miss it much (frankly) I do not use the camera on my phone.
Unfortunately, there are no built-in microphone. This is essentially a bigger gap than no camera. The Touch is a premium audio voice recorder, and (more importantly for me) a first-class-Skype client. There are third party solutions for this (a mini-micro-connector, which is directly in the headphone port), but if the touch had a built in microphone, making it with world-class applications such as Shazam (and Skype) so much easier < , br /> In addition, there is no compass, no GPS receiver, which in contact. I understand that these are links in order to better differentiate the Touch from the iPhone, but I would have welcomed them into the top-of-the-line (64GB) version of the iPod.
And finally, there is no radio receiver. I am definitely not a radio man, as I hear it next to never. However, some people can (like the well-tonne IP applications to sell radio shows), and in general, the Nano is now – even with a nice Tivoesque pause function! Why does not the Touch? Strange design choice.
IPod & iTunes
The original iPod was present, the sheer strength of a brilliant user experience – and the touch surface-one miles stone to improve on this. To date, there is simply no better than the multimedia interface of the touch / iPhone. It is natural after a few seconds. It is stunningly beautiful, with muted highlights and clever by small (if noticeable accent) animations to convey the different metaphors of the interface (for example, the rubber-banded bouncing if) you reach the end of a playlist. As an interface before you can use immediately to achieve complex tasks with only the bare finger movement. Using it is pure, unadulterated fun. The Cover Flow album browsing may be one of the least useful, but it is definitely the most natural (and fun) so if you turn to music. And it is jaw-droppingly well executed (Note: when using Cover Flow, you should make sure that you all cover art from any music you have not installed from the iTunes Store).
On the Based on all the iPod music is played, the playlist and use playlist on the Touch is a joy. Whileplaying The interface is mature and offers refinements such as the display of song lyrics is on a single tap, along with simple controls for singularily Repeat and Shuffle. Unfortunately, this playlist feature also one of the most striking weaknesses: The Touch is not Channel groups to play. Group I, usually a small group of songs in a very short playlist (eg, best ’10 Springsteen), and then blend them into larger playlist simply by deleting a playlist in a group. Even if it supports iTunes, have All versions of the Touch stubbornly refused to do so.
something strangely missing on the Touch is the ability to search for an artist or song title. Given the fact that more than 10,000 titles fit the device, the need for a way to search for something is obviously (Note: The Touch * not * have a global search function that will also show up songs – along with the contacts and mail that your keyword. Having regard to the iPod app simply leave to look is a song for everything just goes to operate, and it’s not what I would expect). And while we’re there, I would be the ability to love even in the texts, however, that the dot on the i would be. < , br /> What is available, and what surprised me is, remains a function that I initially dismissed as sell some way to the song: Genius playlists. What are they doing that for one song, he notes, other Songs that you would already have to play well together. Since I have many songs (otherwise I would not be buying the 64GB), has this feature has helped me to get an incredible amount of additional pleasure from my music. There are many hidden gems, the bulk of the music that I never knew that I will hold. Of course, if you want, Genius also recommend songs that do not buy, but is now on iTunes. That, of course, is to sell the ” lied “angle. But at least it is incredibly well executed (and yes, I’ve used it) supports
The 64GB now also the voice – and I am sure it is a wonder of technology. But (like the auto-correction system for text), it usually works only in English. If you have configured the system in German, you have to pronounce English band’s name as it would, according to a German-speakers are read-only. Do it again and everyone in the room staring at you. They will never do it again. Plus, because of the greater complexity of the German language (I’m German speaking), the commands only work half the time. A nice idea and a boon during the driving or typing. But * only * if rounded off to english.
is the AV feature set is the Touch’s photo presentation skills, the Touch really presents a gesture-based interface . It was the misery and Flick gestures, which originally sold me on the Touch, and it still does today. On the Mac, iTunes, iPhoto image links management, the very task of sorting out the images easier to synchronize to the iPod (on Windows, this task becomes somewhat more pedestrian than when they are finished, manually set the “My Pictures”) to manage folders. One strange quirk is, however, that during the iTunes sync your images appear on a (for me down unknown sample, but definitely) smaller size. Since I am a photo nut) (DSLR shooting with this ‘feature’ annoys me a bit like iTunes are not provided at present to control the recalculation of photos.
; The success of the original iPod has left some competitors scratching their heads, while it blindingly obvious to most users: the tight and seamless integration with iTunes. Now, in version 9, iTunes has become quite complex and not always intuitive. Well attempted to organize photos and movies, music and applications. But iTunes is still very easy to use, and the synchronization of the iPod Touch with iTunes is fast and simple. A small disappointment is the fact that you are not wirelessly synchronize your touch, and it still does not mount as an external hard drive. Another disappointment is that although you can now search your iTunes music over the network with multiple Macs shares, they can not transfer your music to the Touch (A Small brilliant app from the AppStore this can do for you, though).
And while we are talking about iTunes – it is a function that I have on the Touch: The Visualizer Love had. iTunes Visualizer “is really beautiful, and I would have the same functionality on my touch.
While the Internet itself, the iPod Touch is an impressive and fun device that is connected to real progress, as with the Internet. The always on nature and graceful handling of the connection drops to make the touch of one of the best internet devices, I used to day. The included internet browser Safari performs great – unless you load Flash-based content, not support, is to try. The e-mail client works well for receiving and viewing mail. Writing anything but the briefest of e-mail is annoying, since the Touch is simply too small to be comfortable while a significant part of the text. Calendar and address book are well executed (although the entry of a new date and merge multiple calendars is slightly) convoluted than necessary. Mail, calendar and address book can (if you live this service in sync) are either mobile me (Apple, they like to sell) or Exchange (which your employer loves it for strength) by a function that is very similar to “push “declaration. In the past, the use of Exchange has been somewhat spotty and Mobile Me own shares has had problems. All in all, both work fine, and very fast. You must be within range of a hotspot for this function, though. Somewhat disappointing is the fact that not sync notes. Another nice addition is the “Voice Memos” which is an audio recorder. Had the touch, an internal microphone, this would have been around even better. . .
Applications Next to the “productivity” or “PDA” suite (email, calendar, contacts), the touch comes with a few other (but slightly dull) applications (eg, Maps, Stocks, YouTube), and two killer apps: iTunes and App Store. While the former gives you instant access to all the songs and movies on iTunes is currently available (Note: This and the incredible “Shazam” cause unintented’s gross expenditure), the latter (App Store), you immediately give the immediate access to an incredible number of applications that you immediately download and use. The quality of applications in the App Store is quite different, and tends to be a rather minor issues (such as a real, er, pile of Fart applications) proves. That being said, there are a number of jaw-droppingly good applications that are able to touch the surface (and other skills, such as accelerometers use) in new and surprising ways. To name but a few are the aforementioned “Shazam” that can identify a song that played, and immediately connect to iTunes (you can see it in action to believe it has), Flight Control, where you manage an airport by providing the flight path for each level, Bloomberg, that stocks can be found in an exhaustive manner, and Wemlin indicates that an up-to-date schedule of when the next tram comes to my station. No matter what, it is probably an application that supports them.
And then there are games. Apple had quickly realized that the Touch an immensely attractive and powerful gaming platform represents. Performance, screen size, connectivity and control capabilities make it the ideal casual gaming platform. Accordingly, games are by far the largest group in the App Store. Although there is inevitably some runs really terrible, or just plain dumb games, the majority of the available games are at least somewhat entertained, while some competitors, and beyond those that can be three times the price on dedicated gaming platforms had.
In the past, my touch was filling up quickly with some after about that I just could not live without, surface, and an unforeseen limitation in the design of the Touch’s: about management . The applications are arranged like the symbols on a 4×4 grid per side, with several pages that you scroll left and right Flick. Unfortunately, reordering apps, if possible (and rather ingenious implementation) is still troublesome. Apple has done the right thing, and incorporated a much nicer app manager in the (PC / Mac) iTunes software.
Speedup
The iPod Touch, although some as the “iPhone’s little brother to see” was always to either NIBLE as the phone, or even faster. The new, 3rd gen Touch is said that “up to 50% faster” than the previous generation. To be honest, I’m not sure if I see that speed increase improvent translate too much power. This may be due to the fact that my touch rarely Maxes on processor throughput, or (for example, that while surfing) WiFi bandwidth is the limiting factor. Some applications seem to be “jagged” smaller at the start-up (applications) or running (games, mostly), but all in all, the Touch seems to be pretty much as soon as the last generation. This leads me to believe that is the real bottleneck of the execution of internal memory (ie, not the 64 GB of memory, but processor memory) and ony applications that were written specifically to take advantage of the benefits of new technology (eg OpenGL ES). Or in other words, the overall speed has not improved that much.
SDK So you want a geek? Already? You can write your own applications for the Touch, if you want. I have taken the plunge and downloaded the SDK. Note that you can download the SDK, develop, and for the Touch / iPhone to possess, without actually book. The development system comes with an iPhone simulator lets you test your applications without downloading them to an actual device (it has some limitations: for example, the accelerometers are not simulated, and you have no reference to the actual execution speed ). Well, you know a Mac for this (although it may be a few years old) need. The SDK is impressive – overwhelming, even if you are not on Mac programming (and are used almost prohibitively complex if) they are not used for frameworks such as Cocoa and object-oriented programming. Nevertheless grinds your first (very basic) appliction is surprisingly simple, and if you roll this way you will get addicted quickly.
Summary:
It’s the killer personal entertainment. Buy it. You know you want it – especially if you’ve read this far. If you die 2 Generation iPod, you have to ask themselves whether the slight speed bump, and the additional storage is worth its price. For me, however, may perform differently.

I bought a 64GB Touch directly from Apple on the day it came out – I find it often takes longer to get newly released material from Amazon. I replaced my 32GB 2nd Said generation – and the truth is the extra 32 GB of the main difference I notice. Now I can all my music videos / TV shows and applications also fit with room left over, I love it!
A little about me, I am a diehard fan MP3 player so I held a wide range of iPods and iPod Alternatives: Archos 604/605/5 have Clix2 iRiver, Sony Walkman X, iPod Classic / Nano / Touch 1,2,3,4,5, Creative Zen / X -fi, Cowan U2, Samsung P2, etc. I would compare the iPod Touch is the 3rd Generation, all these other players.
Let me just say that I do not have the quality of the rating update, but the unit as a whole. Admittedly, this is a pretty weak update especially if you were hoping for GPS or a camera. I’m a little envious that the Nano does not get a camera and touch, what is it anyway? But ultimately, this is not a video camera for me (I have a flip for that!), So I really do not care. I’m rating the whole package as an MP3 and video player. I wonder how the touch, compare competing products.
Another comment – like the sound quality, I can not say that either for or against. If you really good sound you can get a Sony Walkman! However, I find the sound (through my UE11 Pros) than respectable, especially if you optimize the sound settings for your taste. Neither remarkably good nor remarkably bad, so I do not do list SQ, either for or against the list.
Lets get it then, what I loved my Touch:
browser – The Safari is one of the better browser for an MP3 player, especially the pinch of the Multi-Touch interface for zooming is really nice. Keyboard is a little difficult to use but can be done with practice.
< , br /> 1) Beauty – only raw aesthetic pleasure, is the touch without a doubt the sexiest MP3 player search I have ever heard! And it feels good stuff in your hand.
2) software / iTunes has – what is the point where a discussion on iPod without iTunes? iTunes is definitely the best media player / store interface that I’ve ever seen. In any case, any iPod with one leg over the competition – although MediaMonkey is pretty good in many ways, and that is what I use for my other players.
3) Apps – no one can deal with Apple App Store and the amazing range of Apps now available for the Touch.
4) firmware update – Apple’s firmware is probably the best out there. Sony Walkman is pretty good, but I think Apple is the highest accolades. The update process is smooth through iTunes software update process from any MP3 player I have ever seen – even though Archos comes close.
5) play-screen – the touch screen is really playing the standard that everyone else is coming. I love how they fill the entire screen with the album art. The only other one that even remotely the Walkman.
6) accessories – the apple happy place, there are plenty of accessories and easy available at your local store. Most of my other players have to shop online to those cases and what can not be everything.
7) Dedicated volume, home button, power button – as much as I love touch screens that are really beautiful, some special keys that you have made without seeing the option on the screen too.
9) on the Apple support – these guys are fantastic on the fixing / replacing the faulty units. I should know, because I already had a few things to send back over the years.
10 Speed – they say, the faster and I notice the difference when playing with My applications seem a bit snappier now. At this rate, the Touch is going to replace my laptop…
10 strong brands are the iPod Touch is 5 stars for his master’s class in so many categories! However, an engineer, I always see room for improvement (I hope that Apple listens!)
things I do not like it so much: < , br />
1) Play button? No dedicated play button means it is almost impossible to pause / play by touch. My first Sony Walkman was the best ever play button, the Archos 605 had a nice dedicated play button, even though it is a touch screen. I just do not think touch screen should mean everything must be done with the touch screen!
2) battery – not great if the battery is bad about this thing. Unfortunately, removable batteries are always available, or even a thing of the past with an MP3 player! Luckily, they keep setting new every year so I never use up the battery:)
3) dock – seems to me that the Apple Dock Options pretty weak compared to the Archos DVR dock.
4) video cable – if you want to watch these TV shows / movies You buy from iTunes on your TV you’ll be buying a special video cable – my costs like $ 50! Just remember…
is 5) Stylus not work – because it is a capacitance touch screen, you can not use a stylus as much as you (or could) I like. Looks shiny, but difficult to use – I like Archos better here.
6) on-screen keyboard – not great, Archos is on definitely better for me because you can use a stylus if you have too.
Well there you have it – 9 big pluses, 6 small minus is for about 4. 7 star according to my calculations, if you do not need huge storage space or HD video resolution, this is a great MP3/Video player, not necessarily the best in each category, but I would say overall it is the best device available now available.
My recommendations depending on your personal preferences:
– iPod touch, if you only want a great music player around, browser, video player , games, or if you are an App head I (rapidly becoming one yourself!). It’s all
– Sony Walkman, if you (really good sound, the best I) and / or you would like to think Rhapsody
– Archos 5 if you want a big HD screen, great DVR functions, stylus touch screen and / or a large hard drive (500GB coming soon!)
– iPod Nano, when You want a lean very small player in great colors and a $*()^)# video camera!

I bought both the iPod Touch 1G and 2G prior ownership, and only the 32 GB model through the Apple Store last night. My experience with the iPod Touches has been nothing short of amazing, and while I love my new toy, I’m a little disappointed that it no longer offered much in the way of improvements. I HIGHLY it for people who have never owned recommend the Touch, since it is a great device, but it’s not just worth buying if you own an earlier model.
The iPod Touch seems to have always been a great device
(1) The touch-screen input is amazing, even though more and more competitors tout touchscreens now only very few have to “get it right.” . . my LG Dare, for example, is also a touch-screen MP3 player, but I find it incredibly frustrating to type text exactly, or more accurately navigate through the menus.
(2 ) There is a Web integration is seamless. It is a breeze, as it is incredibly intuitive. Surfing on other Internet-enabled devices I’ve shocked at how sub-par, the Internet can be seen experience. The iPod Touch is really like a portable computer.
(3) The App Store is truly amazing. Since it’s around for a while now there are a variety of different programs available for download. It is important to emphasize that the competitors to the iPod Touch if they too have their own App Stores (Windows Marketplace, offering for example), NOT as a broad range of applications. . . (yet? available).
enhancements over previous models
Although this new model does not sport a camera, as I had hoped, it takes a few improvements. For starters, the increased storage capacity is convenient because 32GB means you can hold more music, videos, applications, but if the place was never an issue for you, you could just as well for the 8 GB 2G. Apart from the increased storage space, the new model offers a faster processor, although it can not see much difference, but I am a very intense game, which is expected as Assassin’s Creed or Grant Theft Auto have been released safely, the difference is noticeable. The earphones come with a microphone, which is useful for some applications, but since I usually with my Skullcandy SCS SCBP3. 5 skullcrushers Subwoofer Stereo Headphones (Black Pinstripe) at least I was not likely to use the microphone so much. Also this new device seems to have a chip for wireless-N and FM radio, but the software is not already available (ie, support, stand, perhaps with a software update, these two functions are available). N networks are much faster than the Wireless-G standard.
DEFECTS NO CAMERA! I read a lot about the rumors about the iPod Touch, and was really excited that there should be a camera. Granted, it would not be the amazing photos (I’ve seen the iPhone camera in action, and it was) nothing special, but it is more convenient to take a camera as a powerful device that can access the Internet. Unfortunately, there was no camera. But tear-ups to show the device on the Internet that there is room for one, perhaps on future models, they are available means.
NOT YET physical keyboard I own the Sony Mylo, and while I strongly dislike the device as a whole, I absolutely love that in addition to its touch-screen interface, it is a flip-out QWERTY keyboard. The lack of a physical keyboard on the touch in any case, the input of large amounts of text difficult. But for short e-mail and simple Web browsing, the Touch’s onscreen keyboard is just fine.
Some final NOTES
The 8GB ’3 G ‘is really a REPACKAGED 2G: I have the 32 GB model, because the 8GB, though it is to be labeled ’3 rd generation ‘just a 2nd generation 8GB model than 3G repackaged. There is no discernible difference between this and the previous generation, the’ 3 G ‘is simply cheaper price. Therefore, if you have an iPod Touch did before, but could not afford, which could 8GB is perfect for you now. But then I wanted) something new and different (owned with previous models, I have the 32 GB model, the 4-times the storage space is cheaper than that, has a faster processor and earphones, which feature a microphone.
MODEL 64GB more storage, but No additional improvements over 32GB model: I do not think that the 64GB model, it was worth it because you are basically paying more for more space (alone and no other additional features), because I do not have problems with the storage space on my Touch, I did not feel I needed the extra 32GB. Others might find the extra space useful, but as I said before, there is no improvement between the center (32GB) and above (64GB) volume levels, apart from space .
Final Thoughts AND CONCLUSIONS
If you have never owned an iPod Touch and want to finally see what everyone has been enthusiastic, you can buy for much cheaper than previously available. However, if you already have an iPod Touch, 3rd generation itself is not different enough to justify buying. Maybe next year if the model has a camera (like this one it was rumored to have been), or if there is a significant improvement of other species, and then pull the trigger, until then, your current 1G or 2G should be sufficient.
