Although the directions state “works with all ipods 4g and later” It doesn’t work with my old 40g ipod at all. It did work with a friends older 20g ipod with click wheel. I didnt try it out at the gym though, so i can’t comment on the other review of it becoming disconnected easily. I called motorola, poor customer service, it took 5 phone calls to finally get though to a tech, who said it should work with my ipod and to return it. So if you have an older ipod do not buy this product.

  2. Will not with iPhone or iPod touch. The only thing it worked with was a classic ipod

Only complaint is that if you want to use it on both an iPhone and an iPod, you must activate the iPhone first.

  4. I use the D650 with a red and black S9 headset, 2nd gen. iPod Nano, 5th gen. 60GB iPod Video, 2nd gen. iPod touch and a Motorola Z6W phone.

This adapter works reliably and requires no configuration – simply plug into an iPod, press play, and the audio signal is transmitted to the S9. It may take several seconds to make an initial connection.

I recently discovered that the S9, D650/iPod, and my Motorola Z6W all work in concert. If a call comes in while I’m listening to an iPod via D650 on the S9 headset, the iPod automatically pauses while the call is routed to the S9 – after the call ends, the iPod resumes playing, also automatically.

    Very cool.

I haven’t noticed any reduction in battery performance – I mainly use the 60GB iPod – which may have the best battery among all my iPods. I’ve also been fortunate that all of my iPods’ batteries still work nearly as new.

range of bluetooth is limited when linked to the bluetooth headphones. When carrying the Itouch in my front shirt pocket it would sometimes cut in and out on the headphones. If I moved the Itouch to my back pants pocket it didn’t seem to cut out as often.
